Charlotte, North CarolinaNamed after Anne Elizabeth Watts, Elizabeth was introduced to Charlotte in 1907. It is home to Independence Park, the first public park in Charlotte which opened around the same time. Independence Park was designed by a man named John Nolen, who would go on to design the beautiful and prestigious Myers Park several years later.
Elizabeth Avenue, mainly a residential street in it’s earlier years, is now home to many local restaurants and specialty shops that have occupied the historic bungalow styled homes.
