Cara is the mother of four sons. The oldest attends Appalachian State University and the youngest is in second grade. Cara is an active member of Calvary Church, a Sunday school teacher for third grade, and a fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes Research. Her fundraising efforts are motivated by her youngest son's diagnosis of Juvenile Diabetes at 18 months of age.
